The Belly Buckle Drill

This exercise drill is the first of a four-part series on how to use your hips in your golf swing.

The hips help to create rhythm, speed and produce power in your golf swing.

When I stand with my feet together it helps to feel the proper movement. As I pivot my hips to the right (approximately 45 degrees from my center starting point) I feel my weight transfer to my right heel and as I pivot my hips to the left, the majority of my weight moves to my left heel. This is the weight shift you should feel as you make your golf swing.

Do this exercise for 5-10 minutes daily for one week. Next week I will introduce phase two of this exercise.
